Update: 14-Year-Old Found with Heroin After Hospital Director’s Controversial Actions

On May 21st, 2024, Mr. Ratchaphon Sirisakorn, a lawyer representing a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly assaulted by Dr. Rienthong Nanna, the director of Mongkutwattana Hospital, posted on social media about a pack of suspicious white powder found on the boy.

Previously, Dr. Rienthong Nanna posted on social media about an incident on May 13th, where a teenager was caught secretly smoking in a toilet inside the outpatient department.

Dr. Rienthong admitted that he responded to the boy’s rule violation by slapping him, confiscating his phone, and ordering him to strip naked before expelling him from the hospital. He has consistently defended his actions amid online controversy.

According to Dr. Rienthong, hospital staff searched the boy’s belongings and found a pack containing suspicious powder.

Mr. Ratchaphon stated that the boy and his mother admitted to the police that the white powder was 0.032 grams of heroin. Drug tests on the powder and the boy confirmed it was heroin. The police charged the boy and placed him in a rehabilitation program.

In response to the confession and police findings, Dr. Rienthong posted on social media defending his actions, stating that the boy not only violated hospital rules by smoking but also possessed an illicit substance. Forensic police confirmed the powder as heroin. Dr. Rienthong questioned whether the boy’s drug possession would have been discovered had he not taken his actions. He also announced plans to take strict legal action against the boy’s mother.
