With an effort to resolve the problem of excessive airfare rate and provide better travel experience at the coming Water Festival, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has revealed a major decision a while ago. CAAT Deputy Director Sarun Benjanirat disclosed several weeks ago, saying that the airline decided to operate 38 new flights to meet the demands of peak period and lessening the troubles travelers during this period. Such initiative was on directive of the Transport Minister, Suriya Jungrungreangkit, responding to whom the minister urged that a number of immediate measures to support visitors should be taken during one of Thailand’s celebrations.

Launched from March 12, these six airlines will offer an additional 104 flights which, added to the 2,758 regularly scheduled flights, bring the total number of seats in the sky to 17,874 that are available for holiday travel. The first supplementary flights will be introduced on the 11th and 12th of April and the second set will be operated on 15th and 16th of April, exactly so as to match with the recent announcement of the extension of the government’s plans for Songkran holidays, from the 12th to the 16th of April. The three days are accordingly expanded to be celebrated as Thai New Year in the upgraded manner and tourists and natives use the occasion to travel and be with their families.

A total of 38 new flights that link the Bangkok Airways passengers to Thailand’s major regional airports are the ones that come on board. These include providers of not only urban but also rural tourism as well. As valuable contribution to community life, CAAT deliberately does not compete pricing and instead expands flight options and increases seat availability during this festive season with an objective of decreasing the passengers’ travel burdens to the utmost minimum and accordingly facilitating those who want to cross borders to their destinations with ease.

A next step is to add a certain kind of benefit to draw attention to travel and make it more attainable by airlines taking part in this project will give away up to 20% discounts on flight tickets for this day. This promo is available during a number of departure times that fly at non-peak times such as dawn times or night hours. Through the popularization of the discounted fares and the flexible booking options, travelling by air becomes possible for more passengers, and therefore airlines make more revenue from these additional flight services.

This launch of additional flights is the achievement of the effort of a joint venture of diverse airport and aviation authorities of Thailand which includes the Department of Airports, Airports of Thailand, and the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand. These institutions have been working day and night to extend airports’ times of operation by increasing staff capacity to handle the anticipated wave of travelers, who will make a significant use of transport service during the Songkran festival. Airlines strive to overcome the task of anticipating these challenges and strategic planning by optimizing airports operations thus at the end passengers get a smooth flow during their travel.

Besides, CAAT has released the information of new flights & travelers which are stated clearly along with the directions for planning their trip successfully. Travelers recommended to book tickets in advance have look for these other booking options, try, find the best possible rate. CAAT advises buying tickets either on the official website of the airlines or on online sites known for its easy way of modifying travel as well as its rental method of compensation for any undesired conditions.
