Chonburi Police Arrest Alleged Drug Dealer, Seize Gun and 3kg of Meth

On July 9th, Banglamung police apprehended a suspected drug dealer and seized a significant haul of narcotics and firearms. The operation, led by Pol. Col. Navin Sinthurat of Banglamung Police Station, in collaboration with Chonburi administrative officials and anti-drug officers, resulted in the arrest of Mr. Saran Mankit, alias “Mike,” 34, from Kamphaeng Phet province.
During a sting operation in the Bueng sub-district, Sri Racha district, Chonburi province, authorities confiscated 3 kilograms of methamphetamine and a homemade 9mm gun along with six bullets from Mr. Saran’s rental room, according to Pol. Col.

Navin, undercover officers facilitated a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Mr. Saran, leading to his immediate arrest and subsequent search of his residence.

Mr. Saran confessed to his involvement, revealing that an unidentified individual hired him to store and distribute drugs. He disclosed earning between 4,000-5,000 baht per transaction, claiming financial pressures due to his mother’s recent stroke and the care of his 3-month-old child as reasons for his involvement.
This arrest marks Mr. Saran’s second encounter with the law, having previously been apprehended in 2012 for possession of 55 grams of methamphetamine. Released from prison three years ago, he is in police custody pending further legal proceedings.
