Massive Fire Erupts at Sri Racha Landfill

After they had controlled the fire at a landfill near Sri Racha, Chonburi on March 17th of the same year, firefighters were successful outside. Sukhumvit road was the scene of the fire incident, Surasak area near which it happened. It triggered the firefighters deployed by the municipality of Sriracha who were hardly noticed as the fire was reported about 10:00 AM.

As firefighters arrived and saw that flames were burning through the refuse, black smoke was covering the air at the scene. The fire that burnt through all the woods on the landfill was able to quickly move and spreading a must 6 fire trucks had to use for putting it under control that took something like 30 minutes.

Mr Jettiphat Somjai, a nearby resident, and aged 39, testified that the blaze had been slowly burning before coming into contact with the dry wood and leaves resulting into a major fire incident. However, it is with the heavy smog the concerns arose amongst the nearby residents and what was seen from numerous kilometers was the thick cloud of smoke. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in any such incidents.


The Sriracha Police Department has begun a probe into case of cause in the fire.

It is not reported that there is any injury, only dense smoke was alarmed therein and could be seen from several km of away.

Sriracha Police Station is not alone in launching an investigation that would identify the main reason of the fire.

The fire, declared at a dumping site which is personalized to Sukhumvit Road in Surasak area, was aggressively extinguish by firefighters of Sriracha Municipality. There were 6 fire engines that were utilised to take against the blaze, which had expanded to a huge heap of rubbish, got nourished by the significant amounts of wood debris.


The local inhabitant M. Jettiphat Somjai who is 39 years old described that the trash accumulation was on fire for quite some time until it was carried on to wooden and leafy debris.
Surprisingly, although you could not see anything except the sky covered in thick clouds, no pollution related injuries were reported that day. The wild fire stirred up fears between the people residing in the vicinity, as the smoke from the incident could be seen from hundreds of kilometres.
Authorities are leading the investigations into the exact cause of the fire, and all the details are now being gathered in the Sri Krung Police Station.
