In Pattaya, a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after reportedly disregarding a red light and colliding with a sedan at an intersection early Sunday morning, May 12th. The incident unfolded around 1:10 AM at the Pattaya Klang intersection in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
Rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to the scene, where they found the motorcyclist, identified as 32-year-old Mr. Thawisack Songserth, unconscious. He was promptly transported to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital for urgent medical care.
Mr. Thawisack’s blue Honda Click sustained significant damage in the collision, while the involved sedan, a Toyota Fortuner, also exhibited damage to its driver’s side and rear door window.
The sedan’s driver, 35-year-old Mr. Nithikan Bunnarongbhawat, informed Pattaya police that he was en route to pick up a customer in Pattaya when the accident occurred. He asserted that he was stationary at the intersection, awaiting the green light, when Mr. Thawisack, allegedly running a red light on his motorcycle, collided with his vehicle.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the incident and plan to conduct an interview with Mr. Thawisack upon his discharge from the hospital.
