4-Year-Old Estonian Boy Killed After Being Run Over by Pickup Truck in Pattaya
In Pattaya, tragedy struck on the evening of May 13th, 2024, as a 4-year-old Estonian boy lost his life in a devastating accident involving a pickup truck. The incident unfolded at 5 PM within the Suksiri village of Soi Bunsamphan, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the distressing report, Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue workers swiftly arrived at the scene to find the young victim lying on the road, surrounded by concerned residents.
The child had sustained severe head injuries, causing significant bleeding. Despite the valiant efforts of emergency responders and medical personnel who administered CPR, the boy tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Reports indicate that the boy was attempting to cross the street to meet his brother when the pickup truck struck him. The driver of the vehicle, Ms. Soraya Samanphong, 45, remained at the scene, visibly shaken by the harrowing turn of events. Ms. Soraya recounted to Nongprue police that she was driving cautiously along the road when the accident occurred. She expressed disbelief, stating that she hadn’t seen the child crossing and initially believed she had collided with a dog. Upon closer inspection, she was horrified to discover the young boy and promptly alerted authorities while providing full cooperation with rescue efforts.
Surveillance footage from the vicinity captured the heart-wrenching moment, showing a girl and a boy darting across the street.
In the midst of the chaos, while the girl safely reached the other side, the boy tragically collided with the oncoming vehicle.
In the wake of the incident, Nongprue police conducted a thorough examination of the area, scrutinized the CCTV footage, and summoned Ms. Soraya for further interrogation to ascertain the precise circumstances leading to the accident.
