Pattaya —
In a cordial gathering held at Pattaya City Hall on May 13th, 2024, Mayor Mr. Poramase Ngampiches extended a warm welcome to delegates from AKD International Inc. of Canada to explore the possibility of establishing an international Chinese school within the city.

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, AKD International Inc. is a distinguished educational institution with a robust presence in China, boasting ownership and operation of 28 schools and 2 universities. With a student body exceeding 10,000 and a network of over 30,000 alumni, the organization stands as a beacon of educational excellence.

Recognizing Pattaya’s standing as a premier global tourist destination and its untapped educational potential, AKD International Inc. has set its sights on the city for potential expansion. The meeting convened to discuss the feasibility of establishing a high-school level international Chinese school, aimed at attracting students from China while fostering a diverse student body comprising Thai and international students.

Mayor Mr. Poramase conveyed his appreciation to AKD International Inc. for acknowledging Pattaya’s dual strengths as a tourist magnet and an emerging educational center. He lauded the company’s interest in selecting Pattaya as the site for their envisioned international school.

However, the mayor underscored the importance of a well-defined educational framework and curriculum for the proposed school. While Pattaya lacks the jurisdiction to grant direct approval for school construction, Mayor Mr. Poramase offered invaluable guidance to the company’s delegates, urging them to engage directly with the Thai Ministry of Education. Furthermore, he suggested seeking counsel from the Rugby International School, renowned for its expertise in establishing large-scale international educational institutions in Thailand.
